Stonehenge becomes multi-coloured in tribute to the Queen
The Stonehenge illuminated stone circle has photos of Her Majesty
English Heritage, as part of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations, has illuminated Stonehenge with eight images of the Queen's 70-year reign, starting with her coronation in 1953.
In Wiltshire, an illuminated stone circle included a photograph of the now 96-year-old queen at her coronation in 1953, when she was just 27.
Several of the photos reveal the Queen's love for animals, including riding a horse and walking her beloved corgis in the 1960s and 1980s.
A 1960s image shows the Queen, who has been riding since she was three, wearing a smart jacket and headscarf as she races her horse.
A shot of her walking some of her corgis on the second day of the Windsor Horse Trials in 1980.
During a state visit to Mexico in February 1975, Queen Elizabeth was dressed in a polka-dot marigold pleated dress and matching turban-style hat.
On a joint engagement with the Duchess of Cambridge in 2019, she wore an elegant pink coat with striking black buttons and a flower-adorned hat.
English Heritage manages Stonehenge's site, but the monument belongs to the Crown and the surrounding land to the National Trust.
