An ex-husband of Britney Spears is arrested for trespassing at her home
The ex-husband of Britney Spears has been charged with trespassing and battery after crashing her wedding at her California home.
A trespassing report led Ventura County Sheriff's deputies to the pop star's mansion days before she was set to marry Sam Asghari.
Sgt. Cyrus Zadeh with the county sheriff's office identified the trespassing suspect as Jason Alexander. He and two security officers had an altercation when he entered the singer's property. Both guards were injured.
Zadeh said Alexander was charged with misdemeanors of trespassing, battery, and vandalism. Alexander was also wanted by Napa County authorities for felony theft. It is trying to find out whether he has legal representation.
In 2004, Spears was married to childhood friend Alexander for about 55 hours.
Britney Spears is safe, her attorney Mathew S. Rosengart told in a statement. "He was detained, handcuffed, and then arrested," he said.
The security breach has angered me and I'm working closely with law enforcement to ensure he is prosecuted aggressively."
Rosangart declined to comment on whether Spears and Asghari's wedding took place after the incident.
Spears and Asghari met in the video for Spears' single, "Slumber Party" in 2016. The couple have been engaged since last September.
Pop star icon had two sons with dancer Kevin Federline and Alexander.
